== Mergetag signatures

- created by: `git merge` on signed tag
- payload/embedding: the whole signed tag object is embedded into
  the (merge) commit object as header entry `mergetag`
- example: merge of the signed tag `signedtag` as above

Title: Git Mergetag Signatures and Verification
Summary
Git mergetag signatures are created when a signed tag is merged into a commit, and the whole signed tag object is embedded into the merge commit object, allowing for verification of the signature using commands like `git show --show-signature`, which checks the validity of the PGP signature and displays warnings if the key is not certified with a trusted signature.
